I find an application useless but somewhat curious. Create any word or phrase using the Image Bank on Flickr that are just single letters. Each letter can take hundreds, thousands of forms, and the end result may be such that:

letter D e c. letter K letter A letter R Vintage brick letter D

Curious at least. If one day you’re lacking in creativity, use the following link, type the desired text, and play around with the options until you are satisfied with the result:

Yes. Cosmetics, are you talking me about cosmetics? :D
The site is now in black style, after resolving some issues about colors and so on (to preserve the bi-lingual aspect and content as ever).
Minor changes will come in next days or weeks, I guess, to better fit this dark design.

In other order, my Spanish site, Blade-Runner.es will be closed soon, so I’ll post here all the content in it before defunction. Technical reasons and practical ones makes me take this decision. All here. Perhaps TheLostFiles.net will be the next one…

Bi-lingual posts will follow but not in all the cases. When the post or new be only interesting for Spanish audience, the post will be published only in Spanish, and vice-versa.

Stay tuned!

Just started a new site. This one is oriented only to my Blade Runner collection (smart name uh?). It’s like a fotolog, with an object for post, with plenty of pictures (hi-res if you do a click over them) and some details and snapshots of props locations and so. Each post will be updated with new information when available (and enough time).

Working in a new and updated version of the classical alt.fan.blade-runner FAQ. From the lastest 4.2 edition and beyond… Must be revised and new additions done, like Final Cut edition and very much new stuff. Also, using this media, I’ll add some pictures and other Multimedia contents when necessary.

New sections planned/proposed are:

  • All the Film editions in media: VHS, Beta, LaserDisc, DVD, BluRay and other medias known. International editions, from USA to Japan. Only with Final Cut I have more than 40 editions or so…. Could be interesting for people to see differences between them.
  • All the bootlegs of Vangelis work and related.
  • Final Cut, of course.
  • Future Noir, new edition (2007).
  • Origami explained (from the very own Olmos words!).
  • Props section. The object as a character. And curiosities like the Millenium Falcon in the Hades and blimp scenes…
  • Some updates in Blade Runner games.
  • DADoES new comics and related.
  • Philip K Dick complete bibliography and related.
  • Related to Final Cut 5 Disc edition and props, an explanation about how to rip the complete set, frame by frame. A minor section, but and interesting process, IMHO.
  • New book by Syd Mead (Sentury II) and complete bio and works from him.
  • Auctions around Blade Runner screen used stuff, like the hero blaster, the last spinner and so on.
  • Extreme fans.
  • Update in the Internet section: forums, lists, fan sites and so.

and…. whatever!

When this Major update will be released, I don’t know. A lot o work to do! But… after their release… more work: translate it to Spanish!

Yeah. For some months I was out of business and The Lost Files page was crashed down without notice (from my part). Some issues in the database, I think. Anycase, data was lost in full. Great. For a computer geek like me this have not excuses, but… shit happens!!! So, this week I was able to return TLF and restart again. In fact, what I restart was writing the book!! So, I was in need to explain progress and status… and when back to TLF and see it was broken, well, you know.

So, TLF is all new, fresh, and brief! haha! but I expect no new crashes arises… Thanks for patience to all my followers!

Some broken links removed. Facts of life. Network is alive… and dead too. So, I’ve removed all the black holes in the site.

Long time since my last post here. Now, a premiere, or better, a pre-post… I have so much work at home, classifying, cleaning and setting up my room space to achieve a clear goal. Have all my collection in order and accesible… No more boxes, no more piles of books, magazines and so on in a chaotic environment. The work is not finished yet, but light is near to come. Philip K Dick is one of the most important sections in my collection about Blade Runner. In fact, I think is the largest book collection I have about one topic. More than… 500 books? perhaps more, I cannot be sure. From early publications in pulp magazines until new releases, thru all kind of editions, languages and related works. The shelves devoted to PKD are in a way a sickness of collector… yeah, I know it. But, what? I’m happy with it!

In the next weeks I’ll redo my pictures of any book and magazine related to Philip K Dick. I wanna do it for several reasons. First, list all of them with complete information: title, edition, publisher, year, origin and so on, you know… Then, take pictures of all covers and backs, since some editions are worth the value of such task. Hardcover editions, with jacket editions, rare editions (custom ones, fanzines, etc), and other rarities. More than 15 years collecting -not so long time for a serious collection, I guess- had bring me several little jewels I’m happy to share. In fact, I’ll start a new sub-site in this page only for PKD. A kind of public library to share all the information. A hard work waits, I know, but is fun to do it.

And, what about Blade Runner? What about the book project? Well, Blade Runner is ever in my mind, but each time I take a look for new items to add, is harder and harder to find new ones… I’m aware of news, of course, but… sometimes, the most, these items are not affordable (too expensives), or vendor don’t agree to ship internationally, or whatever… So my collection grows slowly nowadays. No matter. A collection is a kind of lifeform, ever growing, despite what happens around.

The book. The book is in standy until I have all the items and information classified and well ordered. It’s a must for doing a good job and avoiding time-consuming useless task like finding a particular info in the miriad books, magazines, reports and digital files I have for now. So.. yes, the book is still in progress. And will be available “when done”.

Adoro ' […]
