Unos meses atrás extraje todos los frames contenidos en la edición de 5 discos del Montaje Final. Miles de imágenes, más de 1.080.000 capturas…. La edición de trabajo, el Montaje del Director, el Montaje Final, los documentales Dangerous Days y otros, en fin, todo. Mucha gente me ha preguntado ¿para qué una tarea semejante?, ¿para qué almacenar más de 1.3Tb de datos? Bien, mi respuesta siempre es la misma, necesito poder acceder a un frame particular para ilustar mi libro, mi propia creación sobre el atrezzo de la película. ¿Locura? ¡Si! Algunas veces el lapso de un segundo no es suficiente para poder captar la mejor imagen posible y debo trabajar a nivel de frames.
Bien, va pasando el tiempo… sigo trabajando en mi libro. Mientras tanto, otro “enfermo” ha hecho algo realmente grande con los 167.819 frames de la edición del Montaje Final. Ha creado una imagen de varios gigapixels con toda la película incluída en ella, volando sobre la misma con una cámara virtual. Y el resultado es el que se ve en el vídeo más arriba.
¿Impresionante, verdad? Sube el volumen, cierra las luces y disfrútalo. Los detalles técnicos están en la web original citada arriba, y para que no se pierdan los he reproducido aquí también.

Here you have some pictures of my new showcase, devoted to the Blade Runner weapons for now… It’s a BERTBY Ikea one. Nine shelves to put in very nice items. In the pictures you may see a Hartford Blaster, Offworld Blaster, a one block resin blaster and then, some COP 357 replicas: two Marushin COP 357, black and silver, and one block resin version.
I planned to put in the showcase the two PKD models from Rick Ross, but unfortunately, they are still unmounted and unpainted…

Aquí os presento una serie de fotografías de mi nueva vitrina, dedicada a las armas de Blade Runner por el momento… Es un modelo BERBTY de Ikea. Nueve baldas de cristal para colocar buenas piezas. En las fotos se puede ver una blaster Hartford, una Offworld, una de resina maciza así como tres modelos de la COP 357, dos Marushin COP 357 en plateado y negro, y una de resina maciza.
Tenía planeado colocar en la vitrina dos modelos de PKD hechas por Rick Ross, pero desgraciadamente siguen sin montar ni pintar…

Recently I received a great pile of junk. Yes, JUNK… Between trash and more trash, I found these two pieces, not finished yet, but interesting anycase. A little almost finished spinner, and a not so finished, just out of mould, sedan. I think could be a great starting point to make two beautiful replicas. But… seriously, I cannot do this fine work, and, in the other hand, the spinner look is very satisfiyng for me. What do you think?

Hace poco recibí una inmensa montaña de trastos. Si, TRASTOS… Entre basura y más basura encontré estas dos piezas, aún sin terminar, pero de todos modos interesantes. Un pequeño spinner casi acabado, y otro, un sedán, no tan acabado, recién salido del molde. Creo que pueden ser un buen comienzo para crear dos bonitas réplicas. Pero, sinceramente, no creo que yo pueda hacer ese delicado trabajo. Y por otro lado, el spinner tiene una pinta bastante buena para mi gusto. ¿Qué opinas?

Let’s talk about the different approaches my Fan Book Project could have (for now). My first idea was to publish a selected collection of pictures, some unpublished, some from prop makers, some from private collectors, and so on. All of these pìcs must be related with the proper location of props in the movie. Snapshots tailored to show the exact place, etc. Well, this was the FIRST idea as I said… But…
But, things goes and take form in a way never could thing in the first insight… and this book will be not exception. A second sight about contents showed me that prop topic is vaste and almost impossible to limit… then, a simple categorization appears in my mind:
1. Props used in the screen. Real props.
2. Replicas from real objects in the real world. Objects of normal use that appears in the movie.
3. Replicas made by hobbists, prop makers, casters, artists and so on. Replicas accurate to screen ones.
4. How to identify and find the real props and replicas from real objects.
Well, this 4 points are very extensible… as time goes on and show me.

Just received. A fan project. One of a kind, I guess. A little Deckard figurine custom made, blister and the rest also custom made. A good work for starting a series of custom made figures about Blade Runner. Yes, this a unique piece. In a 1 to 10 scale, I will give 7 points.

Acabo de recibirla. Un proyecto de aficionado. Una en su categoría, así lo creo. Una pequeña figurita de Deckard hecha manualmente, así como el blister y el resto, también hechos a medida. Un buen trabajo como punto de partida para realizar una serie de figuras manuales sobre Blade Runner. Si, es una pieza única. En una escala del 1 al 10 le daría un 7.
