A new channel was opened last week on Vimeo. The MyBladeRunner channel will contains some videos related with Blade Runner, of course, and so on.

Starting with three videos (sorry, only in Spanish for now). Two of them where featured in the last WeekendTrek Con of Barcelona, 2011:

First, “Genealogía de Blade Runner, del robot al superhumano“, or in English, “Blade Runner genealogy, from robots to superhuman”. A journey thru all the movies from Metropolis to nowadays, explaining the evolution of robots, androids, cyborgs, IA’s, virtual reality and superhuman powers.

Second, “Philip K Dick en el cine“, or “Philip K Dick at movies”. The most representative movie adaptations from novels and short stories of Philip K Dick: Blade Runner, Total Recall, Screamers, Minority Report, Barjo, Next, Paycheck and so on.

Third, not featured due technical issues, was “The Lost Files“, a journey thru my own private collection explaining the world of Blade Runner props. It’s a premiere of my book project devoted to BR props. The longest of the three videos, so be aware!

Just started a new site. This one is oriented only to my Blade Runner collection (smart name uh?). It’s like a fotolog, with an object for post, with plenty of pictures (hi-res if you do a click over them) and some details and snapshots of props locations and so. Each post will be updated with new information when available (and enough time).

After several months of I+D finally the VKTest App is ready! What is VKTest? A simple but fun test-alike application based in the Voight-Kampff test from Blade Runner, of course. An empathy test that evaluate your answers from a random set of questions to determine if you are a human, a replicant, or… a nonsense individual… :D

Working in a new and updated version of the classical alt.fan.blade-runner FAQ. From the lastest 4.2 edition and beyond… Must be revised and new additions done, like Final Cut edition and very much new stuff. Also, using this media, I’ll add some pictures and other Multimedia contents when necessary.

New sections planned/proposed are:

  • All the Film editions in media: VHS, Beta, LaserDisc, DVD, BluRay and other medias known. International editions, from USA to Japan. Only with Final Cut I have more than 40 editions or so…. Could be interesting for people to see differences between them.
  • All the bootlegs of Vangelis work and related.
  • Final Cut, of course.
  • Future Noir, new edition (2007).
  • Origami explained (from the very own Olmos words!).
  • Props section. The object as a character. And curiosities like the Millenium Falcon in the Hades and blimp scenes…
  • Some updates in Blade Runner games.
  • DADoES new comics and related.
  • Philip K Dick complete bibliography and related.
  • Related to Final Cut 5 Disc edition and props, an explanation about how to rip the complete set, frame by frame. A minor section, but and interesting process, IMHO.
  • New book by Syd Mead (Sentury II) and complete bio and works from him.
  • Auctions around Blade Runner screen used stuff, like the hero blaster, the last spinner and so on.
  • Extreme fans.
  • Update in the Internet section: forums, lists, fan sites and so.

and…. whatever!

When this Major update will be released, I don’t know. A lot o work to do! But… after their release… more work: translate it to Spanish!

Yeah. For some months I was out of business and The Lost Files page was crashed down without notice (from my part). Some issues in the database, I think. Anycase, data was lost in full. Great. For a computer geek like me this have not excuses, but… shit happens!!! So, this week I was able to return TLF and restart again. In fact, what I restart was writing the book!! So, I was in need to explain progress and status… and when back to TLF and see it was broken, well, you know.

So, TLF is all new, fresh, and brief! haha! but I expect no new crashes arises… Thanks for patience to all my followers!

Four Deadly Androids; One Bounty Hunter; We’re in BIG trouble

Mark needs our support!!!

Bladder Run – a homage to Blade Runner.

Rex Dickard is a retired bounty hunter living in a sprawling city of the future. He is brought into the headquarters of his old boss, Frank Brian, by a new bounty hunter, Guff. There Brian briefs Dickard about four deadly escaped androids, Junior; Nora; Pritt and Ray Botty.

Dickard agrees to take on one last case, and begins his investigation at the Lorell Corporation, where he meets Raquel a repressed nymphomaniac and top of the line android.

As his investigation proceeds, Dickard encounters the various androids and his quest ultimately leads him to a show down with Botty – the overweight psychotic whose wobbling blubber guts – squeezed into lycra cycling shorts – are the most horrifying aspect of the entire story!

The Movie

Bladder Run began life as an 8 page squit written in response to the so called Director’s Cut released in the early 1990s. Writer/director Mark Hevingham was lucky enough to see a sneal preview of the original 1982 release and has been a fan ever since. Having expanded the plot to a full 90 minute feature – and puching it through over 25 versions until he was happy with the plot – took over a decade and the movie began to take shape in 2008 when Mark assembled a cast and crew.

Setting out to make copies of classic Blade Runner props and costumes was only the beginning. THe movie grew from a project that could be filmed over a weekend into a full production with lights HD cameras and locations loaned by local businesses. During the first half of 2010 scenes were filmed that replicated the Tyrell building (Holdall interviews Junior, Dickard meets Raquel), Taffey Lewis’ bar, the fight scene in the street and so on.

People such as www.bladezone.com, Charles De Laurizika and Paul M Sammon have previously metioned there support this project.

Heres a sneak peak of one scene in a VERY EARLY CUT

The following is a rough cut before grading, sound mix and FX smoke etc added

http://vimeo.com/15285296

Sadly the owner of the HD equipment, including lights and mics, was forced to drop out in the fall of 2010 due to work commitments, leaving us with 30% of the movie completed and nothing to complete it on.

What will we spend your investment on?

This is where your funding will go. If you are willing to donate, we will purchase (its too expensive over a long production to hire) the following equipment:

At least one HD Camera – used second owner units sell for around £1200/$1800 on ebay

Audio recording equipment – including boom mic and tie mics (with radio transmitters) again good, low cost ebay equipment is available for less than $100 for a radio mic kit.

Lights – including spots, floods and diffusers

Location hire – this will be the rest of the amount and will eat into the budget and with a venue costing up to $500 a day you can see that we need to be creative and negotiate.

What you get
Any donation of $49 or less will be credited on the movie

Any donation of $50 to $249 will be credited on the movie, and receive a DVD or Blu-ray of the completed film

Any  donation of $250 – $499 will be credited on the movie, and receive a double disc version DVD or Blu-ray of the completed film, signed by the cast and crew, and be entered into a draw to win an original costume (Raquel’s shades of gray two piece suit a unique one of a kind piece)

Any donation of $500 – $999 will be credited on the movie as a producer and receive a double disc version DVD or Blu-ray of the completed film, signed by the cast and crew, and be entered into a draw to win an original costume (JFK Sebastud’s “harlequin” jacket – a unique one of a kind piece)

Any Donation of $1000 to $5000 will receive an executive producer credit, a copy of the THREE DISC limited edition DVD or Blu ray which includes several shorts, out takes and documentaries not available anywhere else – plus a version of the movie showing a “lost” cut of the film with no voice over and different music. You will also be entered into the draw to win the ultimate Bladder Run fan package – one of a kind props and costumes bundle including Ray Botty’s coat (a copy of the leather duster worn in the original movie) Dickard’s tie (an EXACT copy of Harrison Ford’s ties, The Mein Kampf prop based on Blade Runner’s Voight Kampf machine plus a signed soundtrack CD selection which is limited to ONE copy EVER, which will come with a signed certificate.

Ever dreamed with a big Spinner model from Medicom? Too expensive? Too hard to find at ebay?

Well, now you can pre-order a new release Spinner in blue from Medicom. The kit includes the model itself (23.5 cm long) and the movie, two-disc edition in BluRay (Final Cut + Workprint). Not so cheap, but affordable.

Thanks to a Japanese friend, I have it! Right from Amazon.co.jp and before tsunami, the box comes to Spain. View all the pics in the post at BladeRunnerCollection.com (clic here or in the update picture).

Adoro ' […]
